Abstract

830,280. S.T. garment waistbands. LIGHTNING FASTENERS Ltd. June 2, 1958 [June 17, 1957], No. 18979/57. Class 141 [Also in Group XXV] An adjustable fastening device for use on a waistband has a flexible strip 3. formed from at least two longitudinal cores, encased in a sleeve and has a slider 9 mounted on said strip and releasably lockable thereto. The strip is attached to the waistband 5 by stitches 7 which lie between the cores so that a channel is formed. The slider is connected at 11 to a belt 13 and has a pull-member 19 pivotably attached at 17. The member 19 has two prongs which grip the strip 3 when the belt is in tension. The belt 13 passes through a tunnel 15 around the back of the waistband and is provided with a similar fastening device at its other end. The cores may be made from polythene &c. and the sleeve is preferably made from the same material or, alternatively, from cotton or nylon. Specification 358,434 is referred to.
