Abstract

837,518. Baling presses. WELGER, O., and WELGER, K., [trading as WELGER GEB.]. June 16, 1958 [Sept. 13, 1957], No. 19197/58. Class 94(1). The needle N of a baling press is actuated from the binder shaft 1 via a rod 3 and links 5, 6 forming a speed transforming linkage which accelerates and retards the needle. When a crank 2 on the shaft 1 moves from position I to position II the tip of needle N is moved only a small distance ; when the crank 2 moves from position II to position III the linkage moves the needle quickly to a position adjacent a knotter L and the needle is then withdrawn more slowly.
