Abstract
835,257. Nuclear reactor control rods. PARSONS & CO. Ltd., C. A. May 17, 1957 [May 18, 1956], No. 15669/56. Class 39(4). In a nuclear reactor control rod, boron carbide powder is sintered with stainless steel powder. The rod is made of a series of tubes 3, formed of the sintered material, and threaded over stainless steel tube 4 so as to abut each other. This assembly is then inserted into another stainless steel sheath 1, to which end portions 2 are welded.
