A cleaning pad has a sheet-like body provided with a cation-active substance is combined with a sheet-like body provided with an anion-active substance, the bodies being separated by a dielectric. The bodies may be of fleece, cellulose wool, crepe, embossed paper, natural or synthetic fibres or foils. The dielectric may be air or one or more absorbent fibre layers.
