Abstract

A web of cotton-wool, which may be reinforced of paper, has transverse perforations to enable individual pads to be readily torn off. There may also be a central, longitudinal row of perforations to subdivide the pads if desired. In order to prevent disintegration when the pads are torn apart, each hole is surrounded by a narrow area which is highly compressed.
