816,839. Joining ropes. CUNNINGHAM, W. C. Aug. 9, 1957 [Aug. 14. 1956], No. 24863/56. Class 109 Rope joining means comprises two collars 3, 4 each adapted to receive in one of its ends one end of the rope or ropes 1, 2 to be joined and to receive in screw threaded engagement at its other end a plug 6 having a tapered spigot 7 adapted to penetrate into and splay the rope end 1 and 2, and a swivel joint which preferably comprises a bulbous end 9 on such plug 6 in a sleeve 10.
