Abstract

1,030,485. Hose couplings. GEORGE ANGUS & CO. Ltd. April 14, 1965 [May 20, 1964], No. 20824/64. Heading F2G. A nipple 10 having a cylindrical or tapered lead-in portion 15 and forced axially into a hose 22 compresses the end of the hose into an annular recess in a ferrule 11, and the nipple or the ferrule carries a deformable member 21 which can be engaged with the ferrule or the nipple to hold these two components together after introduction of the nipple into the hose; the nipple has ridges 17 to grip the hose. The member 21 may, as shown, be a lip on the ferrule, or a circlip or deformable washer of C-section.
