Class 117 [Also in Group VI] In a tobacco leaf stripping and winnowing machine, winnowing chambers 2a, 2b associated with a single stripping device 1 have individual suction air systems with dust removal devices 4a, 4b, exit pipes 5a, 5b for winnowed-out material, fans 6a, 6b and cyclone or other dust filters 7a, 7b. The chamber 2a effects preliminary winnowing of the stripped material, and discharges the heavier parts thereof downwardly for transference to the chamber 2b for further winnowing.
