815,124. Reading counters photo-electrically. REUMERMAN, T., and HELMIG, W. H. T. Aug. 9, 1956 [Aug. 22, 1955], No. 24420/56. Class 40 (3). [Also in Group XIX] Counter wheels have fields 1 carrying visually readable symbols on which are partially superimposed electrically coded symbols. The symbols may be numerals on the counter wheels of a weighing machine. The code may take the form of transparent or coloured squares 2 as in a or bars 3 as in b and c which may be read by a photo-cell measuring the amount of light received from a source through the coded symbol or sensitive to the colours of the symbol. A photographic film may be taken and read subsequently. The coded symbol may be on the same field as its corresponding visual symbol or on a different field for photo-electric reading while the visual symbol is on view.
