814,937. Liquid fuel burners. HANSEN, L. S. Nov. 27, 1957, No. 36967/57. Addition to 812,454. Class 75(1) A burner for liquid fuel comprises a cylindrical burner pot 4 open at its upper part and having a plurality of air inlet holes 6 extending substantially all round the cylindrical wall, the axes of the holes being inclined to the radii of the pot so as to cause the air to follow a circular path, means for supplying air at greater than atmospheric pressure and a separate fuel inlet 5. The pot 4 is surrounded by a casing 1 connected to the air supply by a pipe 3. A heavy gauge metal ring 8 is mounted on the top of the pot 4 and serves to concentrate the flames into the smaller area 9 in the centre of the ring. The holes 6 in the pot 4 may be made by drilling and then inserting a broaching tool and forcibly displacing it laterally.
