Class 34(1) [Also in Group XI] A textile web 2 is dried by exposure to infra-red radiation during its passage over a flat or undulating bed 3 divided into a number of chambers 5 each of which is heated or cooled by liquid flowing through pipes 6. The radiating ceiling 1 is divided into panels A, B, C...N and each panel is subdivided transversely so that the radiators which may be electric lamps or radiators or dark radiators heated by gas or high temperature liquids can be adjusted for different widths of web. The whole housing may be inclined about a pivot 9 to vary the slope of the bed 3.
