Abstract

688,839. Reservoir pens. SHAW REGENT, Ltd. Jan. 17, 1951. [Feb. 27, 1950] No. 5007/50. Class 146 (iii). A ball-point pen comprises a barrel having a removable tip 1 screwed to a tube 2, and an integral ball unit 7 and reservoir unit 5 slidable against a spring 8 having enlarged convolutions 24 which grip resiliently the bore of the tip 1 adjacent a shoulder 9, so that the spring is retained when the ball unit 7 is withdrawn from the barrel. The ball unit is retained in writing position by a plunger 15 which engages a key-hole slot 17 in the tube 2, depression of the plunger 15 being effected against a spring 16 by a pocket clip 21.
