627,054. Hose pipes &c. BELL'S ASBESTOS & ENGINEERING, Ltd., WOOD, L. J. C., and HEALD, J. E. Sept. 5, 1946, No. 26725. [Class 99(ii)] A flexible hose adapted to withstand internal and external heat comprises a layer of impervious, fluid-tight material 3, such as synthetic rubber, a chemically inert plastic, or copper or aluminium foil, covered externally with and lined internally with a single-ply or multi-ply layer of cellular heat-insulative material 2, such as asbestos or glass wool. Internal and etxernal, stainless-steel, helical wires 1, 5 may be provided, one wire being disposed between the coils of the other so as to crimp the hose together; alternatively, the outer reinforcement may consist of asbestos cord or plastic film. Specification 591,560 is referred to.
