Abstract
405,733. Plug and two-part couplings. COLSTON, C. B., Hoover Works, Perivale, Greenford, Middlesex. Sept. 7, 1932, No. 24934. [Class 38 (i).] The contacts F of a plug or like coupling are mounted in a body A of elastic insulation that permits relative self-adjustment and has a skirt to fit over and grip a co-operating member. Plates C, D anchored to the rubber &c. body A by roughened projections E have screwed holes therein to receive the stem of the contacts F, and a screw for securing the leads B<2>. Two alternative holes for the contact may be provided to vary the pitch of the contacts. A slotted disc may be placed over the pins to limit their movement, or their approach may be checked by the end of the cable B which is secured by a rubber wedge H. The skirt A<2> of the body A is flanged so that it can be sprung over a bead J<2> on a co-operating member such as an adapter J. The body of this adapter may be of rigid or elastic material. The pins of the coupling may have a reduced neck so that the shoulder tends to retain the pin in its socket.
