Abstract

Packing bread.-A sliced baked loaf C, Fig. 3. is held in inverted position by members 5, and a collapsable tray A, opened by pressing on the ends, is placed in position on it. The elasticity of the sides 2 causes the slices to be gripped, so that, when the members 5 are released, the tray and bread can be inverted and placed on a conveyer for removal to wrapping mechanism. The tray is constructed from the blank shown in Fig. 6, notched at a, and scored at b, c, d, being collapsed for storage with the sides 2 against the base 1, so that when opened they tend to grip the bread.
