Abstract
339,104. Beaver, C. J., Dixon, N., and Glover & Co., Ltd., W. T. Nov. 26, 1929. Armouring cables.-A sheathing for multicore electric cables comprises metallic strands laid spirally round the cable in the direction of lay of the twisted conductors, the metallic strands being interlaced with strings of fibrous material laid in an opposite direction. In the embodiment, spirally laid conductors c surround a rubber core b formed with a central pilot conductor a. A rubber sheathing d covers the core so formed, and a metallic sheathing laid over the sheathing d is formed of members e, f, each consisting of four twisted strands, the members e, of metal having the same direction of lay as the conductors c, and the members f, of string, an opposite direction of lay.
