Fluid-actuated valves.-A valve device particularly applicable for controlling the supply and release of fluid pressure to and from pneumatically actuated colliery decking plant is provided with a piston actuated mechanically or by pressure for moving the valve to one of its operative positions and with a second piston subject to fluid pressure, established as a result of the direct actuation of the valve for holding it in that position. In the form shown in the Figure, the inlet valve 4 and the exhaust valve 5 are mounted on a common spindle 6 provided with a guide flange 7 and connected to an actuating piston 8 working in a cylinder 9. A second piston 13 guided by a spindle 15 is adapted to be acted on by pressure admitted through a pipe 3 to engage the end of the spindle 6 and open the inlet valve 4 against the action of a spring 10. This closes the connection between the outlet passage 11 and the exhaust 12 and connects the passage 11 to the inlet 2. At the same time inlet pressure is admitted through the conduit 17 to the back of the piston 8 to hold the device in this position as long as the inlet pressure is maintained. In a modification the spindle 15 is extended to tha outside of the casing and arranged to be actuated mechanically.
