Abstract
246,288. Ringelenstein, W. C. van, and Riel, T. Dec. 30, 1924. Measuring-devices; air, removing ; relief devices.-In a liquid measuring and delivery system wherein the liquid is drawn from a reservoir 1 by means of a pump 4 and delivered through a meter 8 to a discharge pipe 10, a float-controlled valve is provided at 11 to allow any air or vapour collecting in the supply pipes 2, 5 to pass to the reservoir instead of entering and thereby vitiating the reading of the meter. The valve consists of a seating 25, Fig. 2, held down by an adjustable spring 28 and co-operating with a lift valve 24 controlled by a float 22. If pressure in the system should be excessive the seating can rise to allow liquid to escape by the pipe 12 and thus to the reservoir.
