234,021. Hobbies, Ltd., Klemantaski, H. M. J., and Jewson, H. Feb. 4, 1925. Rackets.-The strings of a lawn tennis or other rabbet having an externally-grooved frame are passed through or over springs which bridge the groove. The strings may pass through helical springs E, Figs. 1 and 2, bridging an outer groove in the frame A, or may rest upon flat springs E<2>, Fig. 5, or upon C-shaped. springs E<3>, Fig. 6. To allow the tension of the strings to be adjusted a movable yoke piece F, Fig. 8, bearing the strings, may be fitted within a bridge piece G secured to the frame, the yoke piece being pulled down by a spring G<2> adjusted by a nut F<3>. The invention is particularly advantageous in rackets strung with metal wire of vegetable material.
