Abstract

An apparatus for cutting board or paper comprises a rigid elongate guide (11) supported above a base (10), a cutting head (29) slidably mounted on the guide (11), and an elongate replaceable pad (43) of deformable material which 15 mounted on the base beneath the guide. The cutting head (29) has a handle whereby it can be drawn along the guide (11) and a replaceable blade (36) which is movable between an upper inoperative position in which its lower end is not exposed and a lower operative position in which said lower end is adapted to cut a board or paper placed on the base (11), the tip of the blade penetrating into said pad (43) of deformable material. <IMAGE>
