Abstract

A film tube (1) of shrink film material is drawn upwards from a supply through an unfolding device where the leading end of the tube (1) is unfolded to form an open mouth. The tube (1) is then sealed at a distance from the open mouth to form a hood (43) which is separated from the remainder of the tube (1) at a location adjacent the seal. A covering device (22) then turns the hood (43) through 180 DEG to a position over an article to be wrapped and pulls the hood (43) downwards over the article. <IMAGE>
