Abstract

Conveying apparatus for use in a ring dump-for storing and/or mixing bulk material comprises a feed conveyor 3 for conveying the material to the dump 1, the conveyor 3 being pivotable about the centre 2 of the dump and being supported by a support 12 movable on a circular track 13. A discharge conveyor 4 serves to remove material from the dump and convey it to a delivery station at the centre of the dump, the conveyor 4 comprising a travelling bridge 23 which is subdivided at the track of the feed conveyor support into an outer take- up portion 30 and an inner transfer portion 31 carrying respective discharge conveyor parts. The part 31 of the travelling bridge which extends into the path 13 of movement of the feed conveyor support 12 in operation of the discharge conveyor is movable out of the path 13 to allow the feed conveyor 3 to pass. The clearing of the path of the feed conveyor support is effected by pivoting or displacing the part 31 of the travelling bridge 23 or its conveyor part. <IMAGE>
