Abstract

An electric contact for use with equipment having mating contacts that may vary in spacing, for example with a gas discharge tube, has an entry portion formed by at least three resilient cantilever fingers 1 together defining a divided tube that increases in diameter towards the free end of the fingers. These free ends bear outwardly on the housing or other support and when a contact is inserted off-axis an engagement portion (normally a socket) supported at the narrow end of the tube is free to move into alignment with it. <IMAGE>
