Abstract

1,028,960. Two-part couplings. AMP Inc. March 3, 1965 [March 17, 1964], No. 9019/65. Heading H2E. An electrical contact, e.g. plug or socket, comprises a ferrule portion F having parts crimped about the core and insulation respectively of a conductor CM and an integral cylindrical tubular body portion B, said contact being mounted with limited tilting movement in a passageway 3 in a resilient insulating housing H. The socket S comprises a resilient detent 1 arranged to engage an annular tip 7 of the housing, a projection 6 engaging a shoulder 8 and three spaced stabilizing projections 10. The socket has an axial slot 5, Fig. 3 (not shown), opposite the detent 1 which opens an entry of the plug. The plug P comprises a resilient detent 1 engaging an annular shoulder of the housing, two projections 11 engaging a shoulder 13 and a stabilizing projection 12.
