Abstract
167,001. Shuttleworth, W. E. April 30, 1920. Electric - lamp lanterns and casings; bracket lamps. - An enclosure for incandescent electric lamps, supplied with current from a source outside the enclosure, comprises two discs secured together with a glass cylinder between them by means of threaded rods and nuts or other means, the upper disc having means for securing it to a cabin wall, ceiling, or other fixture and a watertight box, provided with a boss to receive packing or a gland nut or the like through which pass electric wires to a lamp socket. In one form, two discs A, B, having annular flanges a<1>, b<1>, are secured together with a glass cylinder C and washers D between them by rods F and nuts f. The disc A is provided with a back plate A<1> through which are holes to take screws &c. for securing it to a fixture. The disc B may be provided with a back plate B<1>, having, preferably, a vertical slot, whereby it can be lowered to allow of access to the interior. The upper disc A is provided with a watertight box G having a hollow boss G<1> for receiving packing or a gland nut g through which electric wires pass to an electric lamp socket H. which is screwed in the disc A.
