[Classes 75 (iii) and 75 (iv)] Luminairs comprise straight tubular fluoruescent lamps or other linear light sources arranged along the sides of closed geometrical figures such as a triangle, square, pentagon or hexagon or radiating from a central point within such a figure or both along the sides and radiating from a central point of such a figure. Fig. 11 shows a luminair constructed of four tubular lamps 1 mounted in holder boxes 2 hung by chains, wires, cables &c. 7 from a canopy box 5 containing the ballast on the ceiling. The boxes 2 may have flat or hemispherical surfaces and be made in upper and lower sections held together by screws or bayonet joints and containing supporting sockets 8, Fig. 12. Trough-shaped or other reflectors may be arranged above or below the lamps between the boxes 2. Specification 515,893 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the pivoting of the sockets 8 to bridles 18 on the suspending members as shown in Fig. 20 (Cancelled). It also states that rubber or fibre pads might be interposed between sockets and the lamp surfaces to prevent tilting and that some of the lamps could be replaced by distance rods or tubes. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
