Abstract

1534650 Reciprocating pumps LABOR MUSZERIPARI MUVEK 14 June 1977 24722/77 Heading F1A A pump providing a pulsation-free delivery, e.g. to a liquid chromatography column, comprises a main piston 1 reciprocated by an eccentric 2 and an auxiliary piston 3 downstream of the outlet valve 17 of the main cylinder and reciprocated by a cam 5 on the same shaft 7 as eccentric 2, cam 5 being shaped according to specified Formulae, such that part of the delivery of main piston 1 is taken up by piston 3 during the main piston discharge stroke and is returned to the delivery line during the main piston suction stroke. An auxiliary piston (4), Fig. 5 (not shown), may optionally be provided on the inlet side of the main cylinder.
