Abstract

1517189 Dryingwebs LINDAUER DORNIER GmbH 9 Sept 1975 [11 Sept 1974] 37027/75 Heading F4G An apparatus for heat-treating a long web by passing the web through a closed chamber having entry and exit slots, comprises slots for hot air arranged on one or both sides of the path of the web in a plane parallel thereto, the slots having a dimension of 2 to 25 mm. in the direction of travel of the web, and 20 to 200 mm. in the direction transverse to the direction of travel, corresponding spacings of adjacent slots being 50 to 500 mm. and 20 to 200 mm. Air is circulated through heat-exchangers above and below the web, and the slots may be staggered both in adjacent rows and relative to the slots on the opposite side of the web.
