1511358 Gaseous flow silencer BRITISH GAS CORP 15 July 1976 [15 July 1975] 29648/75 Heading F1B [Also in Division F4] A silencer for a gaseous current emitted from flue terminal 2 comprises two or more members 1b, 1c concentric with each other and each having only one open end, the members being adjustably spaced from the flue terminal 2 to enable tuning to a sound frequency emitted. Preferably, the member length should be equal to “ the wavelength of a fundamental frequency to be silenced. If circular cross-section members are employed their length should be at least as great as their diameter. For optimum noise-reduction the inner members internal diameter should be 1À6 times that of the flue terminal.
