Abstract

1510125 Lubricant containers for vehicle tyre/wheel rim assemblies DUNLOP Ltd 3 July 1975 [6 July 1974] 30059/74 Heading B7C An assembly for releasing lubricant into the inflation cavity of a pneumatic tyre and wheel rim assembly, comprises at least one container 13 having a lip 16, and two loops 11 formed from at least one length of wire, e.g. of brass plated or galvanized steel, the or each container being located between the loops which are clasped, adjacent the container, by fasteners 17 so as to retain the loops in contact with the lip. The loops may be formed from a single wire with its ends joined, or from two wires (31, 32) (Fig. 4, not shown) lying side-by-side and joined by the fasteners. In the latter case apertures formed at each end of the pair of wires pass over one container, or the ends of the pair of wires may be joined. The container, preferably of aluminium, incorporates a sealing/release member 29, which, on tyre deflation, is engaged by the tread portion to release lubricant. A plurality of equispaced containers may be provided.
