1431214 Cigarette lighters MANSEI KOGYO KK 8 June 1973 [20 June 1972] 27353/73 Heading F4F [Also in Division H2] A smokers lighter of the kind comprising a easing housing component elements including a fuel reservoir, a piezoelectric ignition device and actuator means, has the casing formed in two halves which are secured together and have their inner surfaces integrally provided with a plurality of formations which co-operate with and locate the component elements in their relative operative positions. In Fig. 1 a piezoelectric unit 31 has a groove 32 therein which is engaged by projections 15 on the casing, the unit being further supported by a base 9. A hammer 34 receives a pin 36 which is movable in L- shaped guideways 14 on the casing under the control of cap member 37 which is movable by a pin 4 attached to the actuator 3 of the lighter, movement of the pin 36 into the longitudinal section of guideways 14 permitting the hammer to strike unit 31. The actuator 3 also operates control means 5 to open burner valve 22 so that gas issues from reservoir 2 for ignition by the spark produced between electrode 42 and burner nozzle 23. In Fig. 5 a piezoelectric unit 131 has protrusions 132 for engagement in grooves provided in the casing. A hammer 134 is pivotally mounted on axle 116a and held in a raised position by a cam 136. The cam is rotated by means of a pin 137b carried by actuator 137, also mounted on axle 116a, until the cam engages a cut-out in hammer 134 which is then free to rotate for striking unit 131. The resulting voltage is discharged between electrode 142 and burner 122. Depression of actuator 137 also opens the burner valve.
