Abstract

1430978 Feeding sheets J BOBST & FILS SA 8 Oot 1973 [6 Oct 1972] 46853/73 Heading B8R Sheets 31 of corrugated or strong cardboard are separated from the bottom of a pile by a suction nozzle reciprocating below the pile in a horizontal direction, and double feed is prevented by a vertical slide 1 spaced above the path of the separator by a gap sufficient to allow only one sheet to pass, the slide being locked in such position during the initial movement of the separator by means including a pneumatic cylinder 16 connected to a pressure source but subsequently released by exhausting the cylinder so as to be slidable upwards to accommodate the passing of a curved sheet. The slide 1 is slidable on a base 2, the position of which is vertically adjustable by a member 12 and pivotally adjustable about an axis 36 to regulate the size of the gap.
