Abstract

1397872 Delivering sheets WESTVACO CORP 19 Jan 1973 [22 Feb 1972] 2884/73 Heading B8R Side jogging devices 14, 15, Fig. 2, and an end jogging device rest on a skid 11 on which a stack of sheets is formed while the skid is lowered by a table 10. Each device comprises a paddle 40, Figs. 8 and 10, for engaging the stacked, hinged to a plate 65 by a plastics (e.g. polypropylene) hinge 42 in such a way that its limiting position stackwards is vertical. The plate 65 is secured to a bracket 61 carrying a motor 60 for oscillating the paddle through an eccentric, the bracket 61 is secured to a bracket 57 carrying the eccentric, and the bracket 57 is supported on rods 20 vertically slidable in fixed cylinders 21. After reaching its lowest position, the device remains there as the skid descends further.
