Abstract

1430011 Fifth wheel couplings GEORG FISCHER AG 21 March 1973 [21 March 1972] 13703/73 Heading B7T A fifth wheel coupling comprises a slotted plate supported on its respective sides by bearing blocks 4 adapted to be mounted on a towing vehicle, each block having a domed upper surface which locates in a recess 10 of a cushion 3 housed in a pocket 2 of the plate, a member 13 extending through the interior 16 of block 4 being bolted to walls 8, 8<SP>1</SP> of the pocket and having a central portion of U-section which houses a rubber strip 15 bearing on the top surface 18 of the block interior, the plate being then allowed limited resiliently resisted universal movement with respect to the blocks 4. In a modification member 13 is replaced by a pin which extends between walls 8, 8<SP>1</SP> of the pocket and is surrounded by a rubber sleeve.
