1429273 Pipe joints S N ENG CO Ltd and W P J HAWES 8 May 1974 [23 May 1973] 24571/73 Heading F2G A pipe joint comprises a cylindrical, sleeve 10 to fit inside the pipes to be joined, incorporating a slit 11 from one end face to the other (12, 13) and a circumferential groove 14 part way along the sleeve to accommodate solder, braze, an epoxy resin or welding material which the abutting pipes then overlie on assembly such that soldering, brazing or welding can be facilitated. If desired the spigot can be permanently attached to only one pipe and the other pipe located without joining material to form a detachable joint.
