Abstract

1419654 Valves VOLUCOMPTEURS ASTER-BOUTILLON 17 Jan 1973 [17 Jan 1972] 2456/73 Heading F2V In a liquid dispensing apparatus having a valve member 5 between an inlet 2 and an outlet nozzle 11 and which is opened by a hand lever 17 and closed by the vacuum on a diaphragm 23 (or piston) when the end of a tube 26a in the nozzle is covered by liquid, the tube 26a is provided with two holes 28, 29 in its end respectively communicating the inside of the tube with the inside of the nozzle and atmosphere. Valve stem 6, on which valve member 5 is slidable, is moved to the right against the closing bias of a spring 8 by lever 17 acting on a sleeve 15 connected to the stem by rollers 19, 20 held in yokes (21), (22) connected to the diaphragm. Chamber 26 above the diaphragm is connected to the tube 26a and to the throat of a Venturi formed by the valve seat 3, 4 so that when the end of tube 26a is covered by liquid the suction of the Venturi lifts the diaphragm to move the rollers 19, 20 upwards into the sleeve 15 and allow the stem 6 to move to the left under the action of spring 8 to close the valve.
