Abstract

1409824 Coverings for skirting boards R SMITH 1 March 1974 [18 May 1973] 23864/73 Heading E1B A detachable covering A for skirting boards B comprises a longitudinal bracket or brackets 4 for attachment to the top of the skirting board, a facia cover 1 engaging the bracket to enclose the bracket and the skirting board, clips 5 in or on the brackets) to retain electric wiring 6 in position between the cover and bracket(s) and means for preventing dust from passing between the cover and the wall. The covering A may be formed of upper and lower continguous portions 1, 2 each formed with internal ribs 17, 18 for engaging slots 19 in the brackets and a variety of different brackets are disclosed. The cover may be provided on its upper portion with a flange 3 which engages behind the bracket and prevents ingress of dust. Alternatively the upper portion of the cover may be provided with a resilient edge 11 to prevent ingress of dust.
