Abstract

1409348 Closure devices for vials and the like SOC ANON ASTRA PLASTIQUE 17 July 1973 [18 July 1972] 34103/73 Heading B8T A closure consists of a disc 2, a retaining member 3 and a cap 4, and is especially designed to fit a bottle having external projections 11 upon an annular ridge 10 which is situated beneath an external left-hand screw-threaded portion 12. The retaining member 3 has an inwardly projecting flange 30, an internal lefthand threaded portion 31, an external righthand threaded portion 32, an annular skirt 33 with internal and external projections 34 and 35 respectively, and a second skirt 36. The cap 4 has an internal central boss 40, an internal righthand threaded portion 41 and a skirt 43, frangibly fixed by stalks 42 and having internal projections 44 and a pull tab 46. Disc 2 is placed over the bottle mouth, member 3 is screwed on to the neck of the bottle until flange 30 seals the disc 2 on to the bottle and the projections 34 and 11 engage. The cap 4 is then screwed on to the member 3 until the projections 35 and 44 engage so preventing illicit opening of the bottle. The directions of the screw-threads 12, 31 and 32, 41 may be reversed.
