Abstract

1499741 Floatable ramp; vehicle ramps MACGREGOR & CO (NAVAL ARCHITECTS) Ltd 3 May 1976 [17 March 1975] 11042/75 Headings B7A and B7J A ramp, e.g. for a roll-on, roll-off vessel, comprises a pontoon 12 carrying a bridge section 16, and raisable supports 21, 22, e.g. jacks, with columns 20 inwardly of the ends of the section 16 so that the bridge section can be raised and the ramp can be floated between a quay 11 and a vessel 10 before the section 16 is lowered to rest on the quay and vessel. Hinged sections 17 are provided on the ends of the bridge. Fenders 13, 14 are disposed between the members 10, 11, 12. The bridge section can be lifted by cable or chain arrangements.
