Abstract

1368059 Trimaran A H ORR 24 Aug 1971 9456/70 Headings B7A B7S and B7M A trimaran type hull, e.g. for a yacht, comprises hull sections 11, 12, 13 integral with main hull 14, central section 12 having a step 15. Fixed plates 17, 18, 19 on sections 11, 12, 13 provide protection when grounding, and also form hydrodynamic surfaces. Control member 20 is pivotable between sections 11 and 13 to alter the hydrodynamic lift forces at the stern of the hull. The intersection of the hull sections with the main hull may be flared or angular. The hull may be rigid or formed from inflatable tubes.
