Abstract

1468676 Stock handling installation; milking parlours P H JOWETT 18 Oct 1974 [19 Oct 1973 14 March 1974] 48830/73 and 11416/74 Heading AIM A milking parlour, or other stock handling installation provides ingress and egress from adjacent stalls of a stationary annular area 1, via a peripheral passageway 2, through gated openings 10, 12 in a rotatable closure member 9. The closure member 9 carries a barrier 8, and this separates animals entering and leaving area 1. The annular area 1 surrounds an operator space 3, and contains eight equispaced feeding troughs 4 and partitions 17. A counting and logic device 19 is actuated by the animals to close a gate 7 when the desired number of animals has entered the passageway 2.
