Abstract

1465648 Calendering HERMANN BERSTORFF MASCHINENBAU GmbH 13 Aug 1974 [23 Aug 1973] 35607/74 Heading B5A In order to reduce blow-back and thus improve the draw-in of powdered material, e.g. P.V.C. into the first roller gap 11 of a calender or rolling mill, the material is heated and compressed between one of the draw-in rollers, e.g. 3 and a roller 1 of smaller diameter prior to entering the gap 11. The material may be heated by the roller 1 and/or whilst it is being fed by a dispenser 9. The roller 1 may have a roughened shell, have a steplessly variable rotational speed and be movable in the direction of arrow 12 with a constant pressure.
