Abstract

1463694 Texturing fibres and yarns BASF AG 18 June 1974 [19 June 1973] 26894/74 Heading D1F In a fluid jet apparatus for texturing filaments and yarns, having similar construction, mode of operation and application as the apparatus described in Specification No. 1330422, the second processing chamber has an enlarged portion with a continuous or stepped increase in its external diameter in the direction away from the first processing chamber and a sudden increase in its internal diameter such that a first part of the enlarged portion remote from the first processing chamber has an internal diameter which is two to ten times the internal diameter of a second part of the enlarged portion disposed between the first part thereof and the first chamber. The longitudinal slots extend into the enlarged portion and terminate intermediate the ends of the first part of the enlarged portion. The bore of the second chamber may taper outwardly in the region of the slots at a gradient of from 1:20 to 1:100 in the direction away from the first chamber.
