1462629 Rolling mills TUBE PRODUCTS Ltd 25 Oct 1974 [30 Oct 1973] 50464/73 Heading B3M A mill for rolling metal strip includes two work rolls 1 and 2 one or both of which has a reduced diameter central portion 4 to provide a rectangular window through which the strip passes. The lower work roll 1 may be of plain cylindrical form and backed by a roll 3, or may be similar to the roll 2 (in which case no backing roll is used). The strip may be pulled through the work rolls which are undriven, or alternatively the roll 3 and/or the work roll 2 may be driven.
