Abstract

1458838 Moulding printing platens MONARCH MARKING SYSTEMS Inc 5 Dec 1973 [6 Dec 1972 (2)] 56340/73 Heading B5A [Also in Divisions B8 and B6] A printing platen is made from a polished stainless steel sheet 600, Fig. 25, apertured at 601, 602, 603, and folded about line 604 to form panels 605, 606, Fig. 26, enclosing a resilient mouldable plastics sheet 608. This assembly is pressed between platens 609, 610 so that the plastics material fills the apertures 601, 602 to provide platen portions 611, 612, 613, Fig. 8. The apertures 603 form notches 614 from which the plastics material is removed. The material and/or press platens may be heated.
