Abstract

1,158,943. Colour-embossing. CREDIT DESIGN Ltd. 27 Dec., 1967 [23 Feb., 1967], No. 8721/67. Heading B6J. A colour-embossing press comprises a lower platen 7, for supporting the work and an overlying blocking foil, movable upwardly a handle 8, and an upper platen comprising a heater box 4 and side plates 16, 17, Fig. 4, with angle members 20 defining channels for the insertion of a chase 9 supporting printer's type. For use with cut-down type placed on the foil, the chase is removed, and the distance between the platens reduced by removing packing pieces 25. The type pressure is controlled by a handle 6. The leading side of the chase as inverted is bevelled and the inverting movement is limited by stops in the channels.
