1456238 Fixing electrostatic toner images OCE-VAN DER GRINTEN NV 7 Nov 1973 [8 Nov 1972 17 Sept 1973] 10735/76 Divided out of 1456237 Heading G2H Electrostatic toner images on copy material 10 are fixed by passage between two rollers 50, 60 forming a nip, one of the rollers 60 having a non- resilient or non-resilient cover and being heated, while the other roller 50 which contacts the images, has an elastically pliable cover with one or more circumferential grooves, each with a cooperating scraper or fixed or endless moving wire. The grooves are substantially fully closed in the nip, either by elastic deformation or by a combination of elastic deformation and wires extending through the nip. Both rollers may have grooves, which accomodate endless wires.
