Abstract

In an appts. for fixing an electrostatically produced thermoplastic powder image on a substrate using 2 rolls defining a slit through which the substrate is transported, the roll coming into contact with the image side of the substrate being provided with an elastic, flexible sheath, while the other roll is covered with a hard, inflexible layer, the elastic flexible sheath is provided with >=1 elastic, flexible rib-type thickened zones, the max. projecting vol. of which is such that the surface in the roll gap is completely smooth. The thickened zones may run helically along the roll periphery or form rings thereon.
