Abstract

1455531 Cellulose fibres TOYOBO CO Ltd 2 Jan 1975 49/75 Heading B5B [Also in Division C1] Cellulosic fibres are impregnated with a phosphorous compound preparatory to carbonization (see Division C1). In an example, a solution of polyphosphonate in trichloroethylene is mixed with a viscose (cellulose concentration 5À0%), the proportion of polyphosphorate to cellulose being 10 : 100 by wt. The resultant viscose is spun into a bath of sulphuric acid, sodium sulphate and zinc sulphate at 25‹ C., then desulphurized, water washed and acid treated to obtain a 2À5 denier polynosic fibre.
