Abstract
1450113 Liquid/liquid extractor LUWA AG 24 Oct 1973 [1 Nov 1972] 49559/73 Heading B1F Countercurrent liquid/liquid extraction appartus. Fig. 2, comprises stirrer 48, partition floors divided into axially aligned segments, 22, 24, the segments being pivoted at shaft 26 and the segments of each axial alignment being connected by shafts 34 to form a partial unit, the partial units being releasably connected e.g. by means, Fig. 6, comprising two threaded pins 90 and 92 held by a nut 94 which can be tightened to draw the units into a retracted position for withdrawal, or loosened partially to cause the partial units to bear against or engage the housing, or loosened completely to enable the partial units to pivot and thus open to allow the removal of the stirrer from the partial unit. The means of Fig. 6 may alternatively be a mechanism as shown in Fig. 8 in which tightening of nut 110 causes cone 106 to move towards the nut, and hence displace bands 66 away from each other together with respective partial units to which they are connected.
